PAT Testing in Dorking, Surrey & Sussex

ELECTRICITY AT WORK CAN BE SHOCKING!
All electrical appliances fitted with a push in plug, used in the work place, need to be tested in order to comply with the latest ELECTRICITY AT WORK regulations.

PAT Testing or "Portable Appliance Testing" now known as EET   "Electrical Equipment Testing" reduces the risk of personal injury or fire caused by faulty appliances.

EET testing reduces reasons for insurance companies to refuse a claim.

EET testing includes a full visual inspection and testing of the appliance by means of the latest electronic testing equipment. On completion, labels are attached to each appliance verifying the test date

Every tested appliance is given a log number, which relates to the provided test certificate and report.

Where necessary simple remedial work
( ie: changing a fuse or plug ) can be undertaken.

About Me

Since the age of ten I have been involved in my family's business, producing electrical products for use in the domestic market. I became involved with PAT Testing when in my passion as a musician and audio technician, it became a requirement to have my equipment PAT tested annually. I therefore decided to qualify and set up as a PAT tester myself.

I have now being doing this since 2006, in which time I have built up a healthy local client base from offices, healthcare surgeries, hotels & guest houses to musicians, motor garages and construction companies.

I work for myself, so you can be sure I take a pride in what I do and will always go the extra mile to cause the least disruption possible to your business.

I have a City & Guilds level 3 examination certificate for Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment.

For your extra peace of mind, you may wish to know that I have £1,000,000 public liability insurance plus £1,000,000 product insurance. I am also fully CRB checked - which considering the unavoidably invasive nature of PAT Testing is always worth asking if you are shopping round.

DISCOUNTS

In circumstances where I have obviously managed to complete a job considerably faster than the average for a reputable tester - possibly due to assistance or good house keeping on the part of the customer - then I will occasionally apply an appropriate discount to the invoice. However - this is entirely at my discretion and cannot be known until the work has been completed. Please remember the old saying if you are shopping around "you only get what you pay for" and the same is very true with PAT Testing. Kindly take the time to read some of my testimonials from satisfied local customers.

Terms & Conditions

All Portable Appliance Testing ( PAT ) will be carried out in accordance with the Institute of Electrical Engineers ( IEE ) Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.

It is a requirement that I be met by a competent person, who should be able to advise on any on site safety information, as well as showing me all the appliances needing to be tested. It would also be appreciated if they or another competent person remain on site for the duration of my visit. It is the clients responsibility to make me aware of all items to be tested, although I will always do my best to ensure I find everything on the premises. With the best will in the world - things may be missed - so you shouldn't be too concerned about the odd item - however if I am required to come back - then it will have to be charged as an additional job.

The customer must ensure that all data is backed up prior to testing.

Whilst Tim Howe Pat testing carries Public and Product liability insurance, no liability is accepted for loss of data or business interruption.

All Pat testing is carried out entirely at the appliance owners risk.

Please be aware that my itemised customer report simply states the log number, type of appliance, whether it has passed or failed, date and recommended date for re-test - along with any advisory notes. Occasionally I will add a reading in the notes if I feel the information is useful. Obviously in the case of a fail then the reason will be fully explained. If you require anything more detailed, then this should be discussed beforehand. However, please be assured that all data is backed up for at least 2 years incase a query arises.

Payment is due within 28 days of invoice unless otherwise stated.
